Galana intends to consolidate its position as the leading regional oil company in the Indian Ocean

The investment program to develop new capacity will be instrumental in ensuring the company’s diversification and sales growth


A new Petroleum Jetty
  • The new Galana Petroleum Jetty, located in Madagascar largest port is designed for efficient loading and offloading of oil tankers at 1000m3 throughput; accelerating the turnaround time of ships, thereby reducing the costs of both import and export shipping

Network modernisation
  • Major investments in service station modernization and construction in strategic locations around Madagascar have contributed to raising the Group's profile in the region.
  • Today some 63 stations of Galana boosts the image of a local, strategically situated, highly modern, HSE compliant, dynamic and service oriented stations.
  • In the next few years, Galana will continue expanding and improving its retail network thanks to a multi-million dollar investment program.
  • Many of our stations provide a convenience store and in each one, we ensure cleanliness, a wide variety of choices, value and the superior services of the Galana network.

Expanded storage capacity

  • Already viewed as the oil hub of the Indian Ocean, the Toamasina platform with its 260,000 cubic meters of storage capacity, has not reached the end of its growth...Galana is planning to purchase new storage tanks to substantially boost local and offshore capacity and keep step with demand trends.

Bitumen and rehabilitation of the road network

  • Bitumen is an "avenue" of progress in Madagascar. Indeed, the country has undertaken a ten-year program to rehabilitate its road network. Galana has the required infrastructure for hosting imports of bitumen and by providing export opportunities to neighbouring countries in the Indian Ocean region.

More LPG to protect forests

  • The struggle against deforestation leaves no alternative! Substituting LPG for charcoal, the fuel traditionally used for the population’s domestic needs, has become a priority in Madagascar. And Galana has taken the challenge to heart, increasing its LPG distribution capacities.


  • By choosing a more affordable 4-kg size for LPG cylinders, Galana hopes to encourage consumption of this new product in consumer markets.
